Schkeuditz is home to Leipzig/Halle Airport, one of the most important freight transport hubs in Germany, not least due to the Schkeuditz motorway junction. Schkeuditz-West commuter railway station is located right outside the property. Leipzig/Halle Airport is Germany’s second-largest hub for air freight and serves as an international distribution hub for DHL. Amazon chose the location in 2020. The company operates Europe’s first regional air freight centre here. The airport is licensed for 24-hour operation, which is a competitive advantage to other airports in Germany.
