All of the energy-efficient semi-detached houses with district heating and the building’s own photovoltaic roof systems were leased to the federally owned Bundesanstalt für Immobilien (BImA) until 2018, which in turn let them to members of the US armed forces for use. BImA has subsequently been granted an option to extend the lease.

MACRO LOCATION

Partnership between the local population and the US Army

GIEAG acquired the residential complex directly from the town of Erbendorf, which had previously built it. Living together in the small town in the district of Tirschenreuth is characterized by the partnership between the local population and the 15th Engineer Battalion of the US Army. Accordingly, the area is inhabited by the US forces, who also make use of the nearby Grafenwoehr military training grounds.
The property was held by GIEAG on a long-term basis and continued to be managed by the town of Erbendorf. The tenant was the Federal Real Estate Agency (DlmA).

Kemnather Straße is a federal highway. The A 93 can be reached in 15 minutes by car. The nearest train station is in Wiesau, approx. 20 km away by car.

MICRO LOCATION

Living and feeling good

The state-approved resort is located north-east of Nuremberg. The diverse nature around Erbendorf offers the opportunity for outdoor activities. Nevertheless, the most important supply points are not far away. There are two large discount stores, various hotels, restaurants, sports facilities and a good infrastructure within a radius of 2 to 4 km.
