The nationwide project developer GIEAG Immobilien AG (GIEAG) has received LEED Gold certification for sustainable office and administration buildings for its new construction project MAYOFFICE in Stuttgart. The LEED certificate is awarded by the US Green Building Council and is one of the most successful certification systems for sustainable buildings worldwide. Among other things, it is based on the sustainability criteria of location, water efficiency, energy and materials. In addition, the technical and process-related quality of the property is also evaluated.

Philipp Pferschy, member of the management board of GIEAG, comments: “As a project developer, it is essential for us that the property offers added value to our tenants and their employees not only through the range of uses it contains, but also through its sustainable orientation. The careful use of resources, as evidenced by the LEED Gold certification, and a significantly reduced primary energy requirement lead us to expect an improved value substance. Moreover, this increases the attractiveness and marketability of MAYOFFICE with lower life cycle costs”.

The MAYOFFICE is part of a district development in Stuttgart consisting of two buildings. In the immediately adjacent MAYLIVING, 67 residential units are being created, supplemented by a daycare centre and a further retail unit. Highlighted locations such as the Theaterhaus Stuttgart, the Friedrichsbau Varieté and the green space Höhenpark Killesberg are in the immediate vicinity and contribute to the attractive location. KINGSTONE Real Estate purchased MAYOFFICE from GIEAG for its “KINGSTONE Wachstumsregionen Süddeutschland” fund.
